Colorado Healing Fund Responds to Mass Violence Incident at Evergreen High School

DENVER (Sept. 12, 2025)The Colorado Healing Fund (CHF) is now actively accepting donations in response to the mass violence incident at Evergreen High School on Wednesday, Sept.10, 2025. The Colorado Healing Fund provides a safe way for people to donate in times of mass tragedy, ensuring that the funds go to the families of the deceased, the survivors, and the greater impacted community. CHF will be working in collaboration with theJeffco Schools Foundation to ensure partnership, voices, and community connections are ever present at this time.

“There are no words that can describe the emotions this community is feeling as we witness unthinkable acts of violence within our communities. We are here for Evergreen and will stand alongside them through this horrific experience, knowing that Colorado unites in times of need and the Colorado Healing Fund is prepared to help,” said Lori Poland, Colorado Healing Fund executive director.

“The Colorado Healing Fund stands ready to activate our systems to create a safe and secure avenue for the public’s donations and will work with local agencies and organizations in Jefferson County and Evergreen to identify and respond to the immediate and long-term needs of those impacted,” said CHF Board President Cynthia Coffman.

The public can securely donate through a variety of options:

  1. Online by visitingColoradoHealingFund.org;
  2. Donate through Colorado Gives and direct the donation to Evergreen High School Shooting; https://mtyc.co/346z9g
  3. Checks and in-person donations will be accepted at Colorado-based FirstBank (1STBank) locations. Donors should make checks out to “Colorado Healing Fund” and write Evergreen High School in the memo. When depositing the check with bank tellers, please designate donations for the Colorado Healing Fund’s “Victim Account”.
  4. If donors host a fundraiser with the proceeds intended to go to CHF, please send an email to info@coloradohealingfund.org.

Donations will be distributed to victims through the Fund’s community partners. CHF is coordinating with state and local victim assistance organizations, community agencies, Jefferson County Law Enforcement agencies, Jefferson County Public Schools and Jeffco Schools Foundation to determine how best to support the impacted individuals and families. In addition, CHF and the Board of Trustees have determined that there will no longer be an administration fee associated with contributions made during an activation. CHF will work with partners and donors to secure underwriting for operational expenses and ensure the organization can continue this important work.

CHF is led by Coloradans with experience dealing with mass violence – including former Columbine High School principal Frank DeAngelis. The group understands that immediate assistance as well as longer-term support, will be critical to victims and their families.

Established in 2018, the Colorado Healing Fund is governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees that represents a wide range of communities and geographic areas within Colorado. It is also supported by an Advisory Committee whose members are experts in victim advocacy and assistance. More about the non-profit organization can be found at ColoradoHealingFund.org.
